Candy's Creations at the Flea Market

Weather permitting every week my creations are on display at two local flea markets, on Tuesday at Middleberg and Wednesday at Reedsville.

Currently I have available my fall collection which includes one of my most popular items, ceramic leaves with melted glass on them. Also apart of the fall collection are hand built bowls and candle holders made from leaves.

Also on display is my Rock Art available as magnets, pins, and push pins. And of course my hand painted antique bottles and country styled crocks.

Upcoming opportunities beside the markets to buy my creations are Mifflinberg's Christmas Extravaganza Nov. 20 and my own Holiday Open House in December.

Beaver Springs Fair Results

This year was my first time to enter my artwork at Beaver Springs Community fair. It is such a delightful small fair I highly recommend it to anyone to come and check it when it comes around for next year. Included in my post is a few of my favorite pieces I entered, so of which are available for sale or similar items like them.
In this picture I have two of my paintings: a portrait called Free Spirit and an abstract painting of a Peacock. They both placed 1st in their categories

Here's an oriental painted glass vase, it's one of my favorites because the fish I painted on it have a very fun and happy look to them.

Under the handcrafts collection category I entered a few of my hand painted antique bottles. All of which are for sale except the horse for the great price of $15 each.

This is a sculpture of a Mid Summer's Eve, it placed second to a life size cow, lol.

Another favorite of mine is the hand painted treasure boxes I make, this one here placed first.

Over all my artwork received 6 first places, 4 second places, 1 third, and 1 fourth place. And even my home grown marigolds received 1st, 3rd and 5th places.

Hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse of my artwork I entered at the fair. And hope to see you there next year. I can barely wait to get start on my projects for next year, I have loads of ideas and a year to do them in :)

Fall Collection

Fall is one of my favorite times of year, between the brilliant colored leaves and fall harvest who could not love this time  of year with all its beauty. And what better way to express my love of this season than expressing it through my art. As a child I could never get enough playing in the leaves and now as a adult I still love playing with leaves put now I do it with clay. Each of my leaf projects are made with real leaves. I roll out clay then press the leaves into to the clay to leave the imprint of the leaf's veins and shape. To make the leaves even more special I melt glass on them in the kiln to create a rain drop/puddle look. With all my fall collection I used the brilliant colors found in fall, from the rich greens to cheerful yellow.  To capture these gorgeous colors I actually create my own glazes for the pottery giving them an even more one of a kind look.
