Fall is one of my favorite times of year, between the brilliant colored leaves and fall harvest who could not love this time of year with all its beauty. And what better way to express my love of this season than expressing it through my art. As a child I could never get enough playing in the leaves and now as a adult I still love playing with leaves put now I do it with clay. Each of my leaf projects are made with real leaves. I roll out clay then press the leaves into to the clay to leave the imprint of the leaf's veins and shape. To make the leaves even more special I melt glass on them in the kiln to create a rain drop/puddle look. With all my fall collection I used the brilliant colors found in fall, from the rich greens to cheerful yellow. To capture these gorgeous colors I actually create my own glazes for the pottery giving them an even more one of a kind look.
